staffordshire knot Garden

This is a concept design which I completed as a college assignment. I used inspiration from a book of knots we have at home as well as the logo from the county in which we live: Staffordshire. The symbol is called the Stafford Knot. The plaits at the sides are inspired by our daughter’s hair. No infill plants are used in this design, which is infilled with arctic white gravel instead. This allows the focus to be solely on the intricacy of the knots and the design. The round balls of yew and euonymus give some contrast to the angular clipping of the knots. The variation in planting with the three shades of green gives interest and definition to the garden.
