HOME Garden Design
A fantastic garden design transforms how you feel about your garden and how you use it.
I will work closely with you to understand what you need from your garden, what your tastes are and how your garden will fit into your lifestyle.
Maybe you’ve recently moved house, your family is growing or you want to simplify and scale things down?
Excellent garden design must:
Suit your taste
Make the best use of the space
Work well with the style of your home
Work in harmony with your soil and conditions
Serve you and your family
Evoke a sense of place and connection.
Be realistic to maintain
Your ideal garden will evolve as you enter different phases of your life and your needs and priorities change.

The Process & Prices
details
First, I meet you in your garden and learn as much as I can about you, your taste and your vision. I gather all the soil, site and measurement information I need. Providing photos of your garden from various times of year would be a real help here. At this stage a 50% deposit is required.
1
design
Next, I send a proposal to you with my vision and ideas for how we can achieve your dream space. A scale map is drawn of your garden and design added. I can review it up to three times for you to get things just the way you want them. When you are happy with the plan, the balance is paid.

Deliver
Finally, your professionally rendered design will be delivered to you as a physical copy and as a digital image. You will also get a full detailed list of all plants and materials and a month-by-month maintenance guide.

INSTALLATION
The reason I offer just the garden design (with plant lists and care guide) is that you have so much flexibility in the pace of change, the budget and who does the work - Not everyone has thousands of pounds to spend in one go! Once your design is delivered, you can choose how the design comes to life…
You could install everything yourself gradually to keep costs to a minimum.
You could commission a contractor to do the tricky landscaping bits (I can recommend good people) and buy and install the plants yourselves at your own pace.
Or if you want this done quickly, you can get a recommended contractor to do the landscaping and then get me to buy and install the plants for you. The cost of installing the plants will be based on how many days it takes me. If you want to save money at this stage, you can plant with me and we can do it in half the time!
I buy from Fullbrook Nursery which only opens to the public a few times per year. The plants are considerably cheaper than elsewhere and very good quality. They carry plenty of stock so it’s possible to buy several of the exact same plant for consistency. The only additional cost I add is in the time and fuel it would take me to do this for you. I pass on all of the savings to you.

Many garden design companies charge 10% of the total cost of a garden installation, but I prefer to offer affordable fixed prices so that you can have peace of mind and budget clearly.
I believe great garden design should be available to everyone.
